CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Coe College women's golf team started the Wartburg Fall Invitational on Saturday morning, playing the opening 18 holes at Prairie Links Golf Course.
Sydney Stutzel led the Kohawk women in the first round, shooting seven-over 79, which currently ties her for 23rd place. Stutzel, a sophomore from Tipton, had three birdies on the round, including back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11.
Lia Maxwell was just behind her on the individual leaderboard, currently in a tie for 32nd place after a first-round score of 80.
Abigail Mundsinger and
Brooklyn Gilchrist finished off Coe's first-round team scoring with scores of 86 and 90, while
Vera Obolenskaya shot 92 and is tied for 81st ahead of tomorrow's final round.
