STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Coe College women's golf team began play at the Buena Vista Invite on Saturday, shooting a team score of 346 to sit in fourth place after 18 holes of action. The Kohawks, currently seven shots out of third place, were led by Lia Maxwell in the opening round as the junior shot eight-over 80, good for a tie for fourth place. The Hartland, Wisconsin native had one birdie on her card and also made nine pars in the first 18. Sydney Stutzel and Abigail Mundsinger nearly matched one another on Saturday, shooting rounds of 87 and 88 to be in T14 and T18 with one round to play. Vera Obolenskaya finished off the team scoring for round one, shooting 91, which has her in 26th place. Brooklyn Gilchrist rounded out the individual performances for Coe, shooting 97 with five pars.
