ST. BONIFACIUS, MINN. – The Coe College women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2026 season on Friday afternoon at Crown College, defeating the host Polars 3-0. Coe and Crown were leveled at nil-nil late in the second half despite a barrage of shot attempts from the Kohawks in the first half and early moments of the second. The Kohawks finally broke the deadlock in the 71st minute from a set piece as
Maya Schweiger headed home the opener after a perfectly weighted cross from
Magdalynne Preuss.
Dessa Snyder quickly made it 2-0 in the 74th, extending the advantage as she got on the end of a curling through ball from
Katie Lindsay. The scoring ended a few minutes later as Lindsay picked up her second goal contribution, this time finding the back of the net from just outside the six-yard box after a strong run and cross from Preuss. Defensively, Coe limited the Polars to just four total shots and two on goal as
Cecillie Monroe and
Khloe Orendorff combined to register a clean sheet.

- The Kohawks registered five shots on target in the first 45 minutes as Danielle Boche, Chloe Meiners, Preuss, and Sarenna Hurtig forced the Polar keeper into saves. Coe forced five more saves early in the second half before breaking the tie on the set-piece link-up between Preuss and Schweiger. Snyder doubled the advantage moments later, pouncing on a back-post ball from Lindsay before firing a shot past the keeper into the top corner. Lindsay got in on the goal-scoring action in the 79th, waiting inside the box for a perfectly squared ball from Preuss which she finished off with ease.
