WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College Softball team will make its fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA tournament on Friday after winning the American Rivers Conference regular-season championship to earn the league's AQ bid. The fourth-seeded Kohawks were assigned to the Waverly location in Monday afternoon's selection show and they were matched up against the third seeded Milwaukee School of Engineering. MSOE, which earned the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's AQ bid, returns to the tournament for the second-straight season.
Joining MSOE and Coe in the regional are St. Olaf College, University of St. Thomas, Webster University and UW-Superior. All received automatic berths except for St. Olaf. The Oles - who drew the top seed in the region - were beaten twice by St. Thomas in MIAC Playoffs.

The six-team double-elimination regional tournament will open with four games on Friday, May 21-23.

Forty-one conferences received an automatic qualification (Pool A). One institution was selected from Pool B, which includes independent institutions and schools from conferences that do not meet the automatic qualification criteria. The six remaining teams were selected on an at-large basis from automatic-qualifying conferences and the remaining institutions in Pool B.
The eight regionals will be held May 20-23. The finals, hosted by Old Dominion Athletic Conference and City of Salem, will be held May 27-June 1 at Moyer Park in Salem, Virginia. All rounds will use a double-elimination format.
