NORTHFIELD, MINN. - The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat on the road at St. Olaf on Wednesday afternoon. The Oles used a strong second half to down the Kohawks, scoring twice before the break to grab a comfortable lead. The hosts added to their lead just over two minutes into the second period, grabbing a three-goal advantage. Coe continued to battle despite the deficit, getting its lone goal of the match in the 59th minute thanks to
Mackenzie Adams. The loss drops Coe to 0-7-1 on the season while St. Olaf improves its mark to 3-3-1.

- St. Olaf had a solid start to the match, recording four shots in the opening 10-plus minutes of the period. Coe's first shot came in the 13th minute but an attempt from Ella Weber came up empty. The Oles opened the scoring in the 19th minute, taking advantage of a strong stretch which featured three shots in four minutes. St. Olaf added to its lead just before the break, scoring its second of the match in the 43rd minute after a long lull in the action.
- The hosts scored quickly after the halftime break, netting their third of the match in the 48th minute. Coe responded just under 10 minutes later on Adams' second of the season as the freshman scored off an assist from Mackenzie Jones. The Oles settled in for the remaining moments of the second half, managing the game en route to the victory.
Up next: The Kohawks are back in action this Saturday for their first A-R-C match of the season, traveling to Indianola to take on Simpson College at 1 PM.
