Madison Schultz Reaches Third Round in Singles at ITA Regionals

ST. PETER, MINN. - The Coe College women's tennis team competed over the weekend, taking part in the 2022 ITA Women's Midwest Regional Championships and the Gustavus Invite at Gustavus College. Madison Schultz won a pair of singles matches in the third quarter of the bracket, reaching the third round before falling to quarterfinalist Clare Palen of UW-Eau Claire. Schultz also teamed with her doubles partner Jania Carter-Johnson for one win in the top half of the draw, defeating Amalin Sorajja and Avery Munster from Macalester 8-4 before falling to the top-seeds from Carleton. Claudia Bilkey, Jaden Fuqua, Emma Lassen and Courtney Carstensen also competed in singles for the Kohawks, taking part in the Gustavus Fall Invite draw. Carstensen won a pair of matches and reached the quarterfinals before falling to Sarah Clark of St. Olaf. Doubles pairings of Carstensen and Fuqua and Lassen and Bilkey also competed in doubles draws at the Gustavus Invite with Lassen and Bilkey claiming one victory during the weekend.
