CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team dropped its home opener on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-0 to UW-Eau Claire. The Kohawks started the game with some early pressure, seeing a shot attempt skim the crossbar but the Blugolds took the lead in the 11th minute. Coe battled back immediately and put UWEC under threat but the hosts had another shot hit the crossbar in the 18th minute. The visitors added one more goal before the end of the first half, creating the chance after a corner kick was delivered into the box. Eau Claire went on to add three more goals in the second half, scoring the final tally of the game in the 89th minute. The loss drops Coe to 0-2-0 overall while UW-Eau Claire improves to 1-1-0 for the season.

- Coe started the game on the front foot, getting an early shot from Amanda Hiebert but her attempt struck the crossbar and stayed out. The visitors scored the opening goal just over 10 minutes into the contest, using an individual effort to beat the Kohawk defense to go ahead 1-0.
- The Kohawks continued to battle despite the early deficit, getting another shot attempt from Sienna Stucke but again the attempt slammed against the crossbar as she was denied the equalizer. The Blugolds added to their lead in the 28th, taking advantage of a corner kick which resulted in a headed goal for the visitors. UW-Eau Claire tacked on three goals in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 57th, 69th ad 89th minute.
