Men's Golf Claims Team Title at Wartburg Invite, Lucas Geiger Earns Individual Medalist Honors

WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College men's golf team started its season with a bang on Thursday, claiming the team title at the Wartburg Fall Shootout with an 18-hole score of 293. The total, which is just three shots shy of tying the school record, featured four sub-80 rounds and two under-par rounds. Lucas Geiger led the team with a two-under, 70, claiming co-medalist honors with Noah Nabb of Loras College. Alec Brockmeyer finished in a close second after posting a one-under-par, 71. James Carsrud was the third Kohawk who finished inside the top 10, tying for sixth place with a score of 75. Collin Brockmeyer and Matt Lawton rounded out the scoring for Coe's top team, posting rounds of 77 and 80 to help the Kohawks to the trophy. Sam Scully and Gavin Jennings also turned in solid efforts for the Kohawks' second team, shooting 78 and 80 respectively to finish inside the top 20.
