WAVERLY, Iowa – The Coe College men's golf team played the opening 18 holes of the Wartburg Fall Invite Saturday at Prairie Links Golf Course. The Kohawk men had two squads featured on Saturday, led by
Sam Scully and
Tyler Santi who posted matching 74s to pace the top team. Scully made three birdies on his round, followed by Santi's two as the pair sit six shots back of Blake Perrin who fired a first-round 68.
Caden Weddingfeld (75, T13) and
Tommy Kulesza (76, T18) rounded out Coe's top team first-round scores while
Jackson Pipho was just behind with an opening 78. The second squad was led by
C. Reece Breitenbach who matched Weddingfeld's 75 while
Mitchell Katz (77, T20) was the only other player to shoot in the 70s.
Lane Pierson (81, T36) and
Karl Liedtke (84, 41) concluded the team scoring for the B squad.
