MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team is headed back to the NCAA DIII Volleyball tournament for the second consecutive season and fourth time under head coach
DeAnn Akins. The Kohawks (21-11, 6-2 A-R-C), who defeated sixth-seeded Loras, second-seeded Nebraska Wesleyan and top-seeded Dubuque in the A-R-C postseason tournament, will face the University of Wisconsin Whitewater (26-4, 6-1 WIAC), the second-seed in the Mount Vernon regional which is being hosted by Cornell College.
The Warhawks are fourth in this week's AVCA DIII Volleyball Coaches' Poll and ride a four-match winning streak including a 3-0 sweep of #3 UW-Oshkosh in the WIAC tournament championship, the Titans lone loss of the season. This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams as they squared off on September 9 at Kohawk Arena with UWW defeating Coe 3-0. The Kohawks are receiving votes in the national poll and have won 11 of their last 13 matches including the sweep of the A-R-C tournament. Coe is looking for its first win at the national tournament since the 2014 when the Kohawks defeated St. Thomas 3-1 in St. Paul.
