CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team swept Loras for the second time in less than a week on Tuesday evening at Kohawk Arena, punching its ticket to the American Rivers Conference postseason tournament semifinals. The Kohawks, who hit .256 as a team, had three players reach double-digit kills while
Maddy Maahs turned in 37 assists.
Maggie Furlong had a team-high 11 kills and hit .400 while
Madi Parson and
Grace Lueken finished with ten each.

GAME FACTS
- Loras scored the opening three points of the match but Coe quickly answered, scoring seven of the next eight points to regain momentum. The Kohawks used another strong run midway through the set, ripping off six-straight points to take a six-point lead. Loras fought back to within two points at 19-17 but a four-point string ended the match as Coe took the opener 25-18. The teams again traded blows early in the second frame however Loras took control late in the set with a 9-3 spurt. Coe flipped the score in the dying moments of the second, scoring four-straight points to take a 24-23 lead. The Kohawks went on to claim the set, scoring back-to-back points at 24-24 to take a 2-0 advantage. Coe's best attacking period of the match came in the third, hitting .316 with 14 kills and two errors. The Kohawks erased an early two-point deficit and ended the match with 11 of the final 13 points.
Up next: The Kohawks will hit the road for their semifinal matchup, traveling to Lincoln for a matchup with Nebraska Wesleyan on Thursday, November 9 at 7 PM.
