ORLANDO, Fla. - The Coe College men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday afternoon. The Kohawks battled in doubles, winning at least three games in all three matches but the Crusaders took an early 3-0 lead, edging Coe 8-3, 8-3 and 8-5 in the initial competition. UMHB continued its strong play in singles, securing all six contests to finish off the sweep.
Graham Peterson was the lone Kohawk to play a three-set match but the sophomore from Lincoln came up just short, falling 6-3 in the final set at the number three position. With the result, Coe drops to 6-5 on the season while Mary Hardin-Baylor improves to 8-2 overall.
