CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team got back to winning ways on Friday afternoon, defeating Nebraska Wesleyan 8-1 in an American Rivers Conference match at Clark Racquet Center. The Kohawks improved their home record to 8-1 for the 2023 season, handling the Prairie Wolves from start to finish. The hosts took all three doubles matches, winning 8-3, 8-3 and 8-1 to grab the early lead.
Conner Kryscio and
Alex Palomar picked up a dominant 8-1 victory at number three before
Jordan Oaks and
Graham Peterson and
Grant Idoux and
Isaac Hinze claimed 8-3 wins. Coe continued its strong play into singles, winning its five matches in straight sets.
Bode Carter joined the win club for the day in singles, earning a 6-2, 6-1 decision at number five while Peterson, Idoux, Palomar and Hinze picked up their second wins of the day. With the win, Coe improves 12-7 overall and 4-1 in the A-R-C while NWU drops to 3-4 and 2-2.
