CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's track & field team was in action on Friday afternoon, competing at Mount Mercy's DeBacker Invitational. Lewis Kleman and Philip Marerro were standout performers for the Kohawks, each earning a top-three finish to lead the men's squad. Kleman continued his strong outdoor season in the 800, finishing runner-up with a time of 2:01.00, nearly four seconds ahead of second place. Marerro picked up a bronze medal for Coe in the 5000, claiming third as he crossed the line in 16:59.26. Jared Thoma joined Kleman in the top-four of the 800, posting a time of 2:05.47 to finish just off the podium. Paul Cory was the Kohawks final point scorer of the event, taking seventh in the long jump with a leap of 6.44m.
