MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Coe College men's golf team opened its spring season over the weekend, finishing seventh at Monmouth College's Fighting Scot Invite at Gibson Woods Golf Course. Coe posted a two-round total of 632, firing a team total of 318 in the opening round before following up with a 314 in round two. The Kohawks finished just five strokes shy of sixth-place Wartburg and seven strokes off of fifth-place Edgewood. Alec Brockmeyer led Coe individually, earning a tie for 12th after registering a 36-hole total of 153. The junior from Ely opened the tournament with a 76 and followed up with another sub-80 round, firing a 77 on Sunday. Lucas Geiger was just one shot back of his teammate, finishing in a tie for 17th after firing a final score of 154. James Carsrud rounded out Coe's top 25 finishes, totaling 157 strokes across the two rounds to place T23. Luke Lofgren of Black Hawk College earned individual medalist honors, posting a final score of 140, two under par.
