NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Coe College men's tennis team suffered a non-conference loss to Carleton on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 decision to the tenth-ranked team in the ITA Central Region rankings. The Kohawks battled throughout the entire contest despite the uneven scoreline, forcing numerous tie-breaking sets in the match. In doubles, Coe lost a pair of heartbreaking decisions at number one and number three, falling 8-6 at number one and in a tie break at number three.
Graham Peterson and
Jordan Oaks dropped the narrow decision at the top spot before
Alex Palomar and
Conner Kryscio fell just short at number three. The Koahwks were again competitive in singles, winning games in every set but one. Peterson picked up Coe's lone set victory in singles, earning a 6-3 decision at number two before falling 10-5 in the third-set tiebreaker. Coe, which is 20th in the ITA Central Region rankings, drops to 11-6 while Carleton improves to 13-2.
