CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The no. 18 Coe College softball team is set to host the A-R-C Softball Tournament later today and throughout the weekend and after winning the regular season championship outright just under a week ago. The tournament will be held Friday-Saturday, May 12-13 at Clark Field on the campus of Coe College. The league's top six teams qualify for the single-elimination tournament which opens with first round games on Friday at 2 PM & 4:30 PM. The winner of the tournament will receive the American Rivers Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA DIII Softball Championship. The NCAA selection will announce AQ and at-large qualifiers, along with regional sites selected for the Championship on Monday, May 15. The regional round takes place Friday-Sunday, May 19-20 (Regionals that include a team with a no-Sunday play policy will be conducted Thursday-Saturday). Winners of the regionals will advance to the Super Regionals that will take place Friday and Saturday, May 26-27. This year's NCAA Division III Championship will take place Thursday-Tuesday, June 1-7 at Taylor Field in Marshall, Texas as East Texas Baptist serves as the host site.
