ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss on Wednesday evening in a non-conference match at Augustana College. Despite tallying its second-highest shot total of the year in the loss Coe was unable to find the back of the net, seeing both of its shots on goal saved by the Viking keeper. Coe conceded the opening goal late in the opening half, allowing Augustana to grab a 1-0 advantage in the 30th minute. The hosts quickly added to their lead in the early minutes of the second half, finding an insurance goal just over four minutes in. The Kohawks continued to battle over the remainder of the game with high energy but the Vikings managed the final 30 minutes and added one more goal before the final whistle.

GAME FACTS
- The hosts dominated the early moments of the game, recording three shots in the opening 15 minutes. Freshman goalie Lilly Monroe was tested just once during the run, making her first save of the night to keep it scoreless.
- Coe had a strong spell during the next few minutes creating two scoring chances for Liberty Troupe who missed the target with her first before seeing her second strike saved. The Vikings scored the opener nearly 10 minutes later, capitalizing on a rebounded shot attempt that Monroe saved just moments before. Ella Weber had a chance to tie the game just a few minutes later but the senior's shot attempt was again saved as Augustana took a 1-0 lead to the break.
- The Vikings scored their second goal in similar fashion to the first, pouncing on another rebounded save from Monroe to double their lead. Coe did well over the next 20 minutes of action, controlling possession while creating some chances but Augustana killed the game in the 83rd minute with the third and final goal.
Up next: The Kohawks are back in action on Sunday, September 10 in Madison, Wisconsin facing Edgewood College at 5 PM.
