CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team fell short in an American Rivers Conference tournament semifinal matchup on Thursday evening, dropping a 3-1 decision to the fifth-seeded Wartburg College Knights. Wartburg raced out to an early 2-0 lead in the contest, edging Coe 25-23 in a back-and-forth first set but dominating the second period 25-14. Coe hung around and battled back in the third set, defeating the Knights 25-21 to remain alive. The Knights pulled off the upset victory in the fourth set, jumping out to an early 8-4 lead before seeing out the remaining points. Coe hit just .120 as a team with 31 errors while Wartburg committed only 18 and hit .199 to edge out the victory.

- Coe had a strong start in the opening set, getting a 5-3 lead after three-straight points. The Knights responded later in the set with a five-point string, turning a tie game into a 13-8 lead in the blink of an eye. The Kohawk fought back with four unanswered points a few moments later to make it 15-14 but Wartburg closed the set with four of the final six points to go up 1-0. The Kohawks again had an early 6-2 lead in the second set but the Knights had answer. The visitors responded with six unanswered points and never looked back, scoring 15 of the final 22 points for a 25-14 victory. Coe pulled one back in the third period, opening up an early 5-2 lead to start the comeback. Wartburg doused the attempts quickly in the fourth set, ripping off an 8-4 run to start the frame. The Knights held off a late surge from the Kohawks to secure the victory, ending the match with a kill from Allison Feigenbaum.
