FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Coe College softball team continued its hot offensive run on Wednesday in a pair of Florida victories, extending its current winning streak to five with wins over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Western Connecticut. Natalie Hitt needed no more run support as she threw allowed just four hits and one run. Her offense finished the job in the fourth and fifth innings with five more runs, extending the advantage to 10-1 and enforcing the run rule for the second time in three games. The Kohawk offense did it yet again in game two, scoring five runs in the first two innings before seven in the fourth.
Abbie White got the start in the second matchup and cruised to a four-hit shutout, allowing just five total base runners.
COE 10 - MCLA 1

- Three hits led to a pair of runs in the first inning for Coe, getting a clutch two-out hit from Shaylee Dodd who drove home both runs. The Kohawks scored three more in the following frame, using two hits and pair of MCLA errors. Rylee Newhard picked up the first one to make it 3-0 before a two-run double from Ruby Kappeler later in the stanza. MCLA's lone run came in the bottom of the inning with a two-out double but White quickly shook it off. The Coe offense put the onus back onto the opponent with two in the fourth and three in the fifth. Skyler Stookey drove home the opening two runs with two outs in the fourth, delivering a two-RBI triple to make it 7-1. Coe's final runs came on another triple in the fifth as Kappeler brought her RBI total for the game to five with a bases-clearing triple to make it 10-1.
COE 12 - WESTERN CONNECTICUT 0

- The Kohawks gained control early in game two, scoring five runs in the first two innings. Three hits in the first produced the opening run as Ruby Kappeler doubled to make it 1-0. Coe then added four in the second inning with RBI from Rylee Newhard, Kappeler and Madi Parson who helped put their team up 5-0 after two frames. The runs were plenty for Abbie White who pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out nine hitters while walking just one. The Kohawks scored seven in the bottom of the fourth to put the pressure on the Wolves, racking up five hits including four RBI knocks. Parson, Addie Menke, Marisa Vodicka and Heather Boeckenstedt did the major damage for the Kohawks, pushing the lead to 12-0.
