CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team suffered a defeat in a clash of the A-R-C's top two teams on Sunday, falling 7-2 to Luther College at the Clark Racquet Center. The Kohawks had a solid start in doubles, battling to earn a point with a victory at number three.
Grant Idoux and
Bryton Short combined for the team point, securing an 8-4 decision.
Ivan Burt-Smith and
Jumpei Kasai turned in a solid battle at the top doubles spot but ultimately fell 8-6 as Luther took a 2-1 lead into singles. Idoux was the lone Kohawk to claim a singles win in the second session, coming from behind for a 2-6, 6-2, 10-6 win at number four singles.
Up Next: Coe is back in action this weekend for a pair of A-R-C road matches, facing Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday, April 19 at 2 PM before taking on Buena Vista on Saturday, April 20 at 12 PM.
