GRINNELL, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team dropped its final non-conference match of the year on Sunday, falling 8-1 to no. 34 Grinnell College. The Kohawks picked up a point in doubles to start the match, edging the Pioneers at number three doubles with a victory from
Luke Doig and
Alex Palomar. The Kohawk duo handled business for their second win of the year, earning an 8-4 decision to keep it close heading into singles. Grinnell controlled the singles play with victories in all six matches but
Bryton Short forced a third set at number two, winning the second set 7-5 before a 7-5 defeat in the final frame.
Up next: The Kohawks return to the courts on Saturday, April 27 for their final two matches of the regular season, hosting Central and Simpson at 10 AM and 2 PM at Clark Racquet Center.
