Madi Parson, Ellie Thurow, Tyce Johnson and
Drew Osterman swept the American Rivers Conference's final softball and baseball awards announced on Monday. The duos led their teams to the A-R-C postseason titles over the weekend, locking up positions in the upcoming NCAA Regional Championships. Parson and Thurow helped the Softball team to a pair of wins on Saturday, taking down Luther in the semifinal round before upsetting top-seeded Central in the championship. The title, Coe's first since 2009, was led by Thurow in the circle as she pitched all 14 innings en route to a pair of wins. Parson was a top contributor at the plate, recording three hits, two RBI and a run in the victories. Johnson and Osterman were stellar for the Kohawk baseball team as they went 3-0 at the tournament for their third postseason title in five seasons. Osterman earned a pair of saves out of the bullpen, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Johnson was on fire at the plate, leading Coe's offense with five hits, five runs and two RBI. The first basemen had a homer, triple and double to go along with two singles.
