ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Coe College women's soccer team secured a point on the road Wednesday evening at Augustana, playing to a 1-1 draw with Augustana College. The Kohawks fell behind in the first half as the hosts scored the opening goal around the 15-minute mark. Coe responded well and controlled the next phase of the game. The visitors pounced on the chance and tied the game in the 27th minute as
Magdalynne Preuss drove into the box and fired a ball across goal for
Dessa Snyder who beat her defender to the chance and buried it past the keeper. Coe and Augustana went back-and-forth for the remainder of the game, trading periods of dominance but the back lines and keepers did well to keep the game level as the teams ended tied at one.

AUGUSTANA 1 - COE 1
- Augustana scored the opening goal a quarter of an hour in, picking up a ball in its own end before a cross-field ball sprung an attacker for the goal. Coe responded well, getting a shot from Manning in the 23rd minute and an attempt on target in the 24th from Preuss. The Kohawks capitalized on the momentum with a game-tying goal in the 27th minute as Preuss drove into the Vikings box and fired a ball across the face of goal for Snyder who calmly flicked it past the keeper at the near post for 1-1. Augustana had the final few changes of the half, calling Ashton Proctor into action for three saves before the break. Cecillie Monroe came into the goal in the second half and made a few early saves, keeping it level as Augustana controlled the early portion of the frame. Kiera Vesterdahl had Coe's first shot on target of the second half in the 75th minute and was quickly followed by Mac Adams who had a shot saved in the 76th. The final 15 minutes of action featured no shots from either team as the squads were forced to settle for the 1-1 draw.
