CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with in-state foe Grinnell College Saturday afternoon at Clark Field. The Kohawk women went ahead in the 19th minute as
Dessa Snyder scored the opening goal with a perfectly struck half-volley after a cross from
Magdalynne Preuss. Grinnell found an equalizer before the end of the first half, leveling the game in the 32nd minute directly from a corner kick. The Kohawk scoring duo hooked up again to start the second half, this time from a set piece as Preuss laced a ball into the area for Snyder who controlled it and lashed it past the keeper. Grinnell managed to tie the game in the final moments, putting a corner into a dangerous area with the ball bouncing off a Kohawk and into the goal.

- The Kohawks were on the front foot from the opening whistle, recording an early shot that missed the target. Emily Robinson made a save for the Kohawks a few minutes later but Coe stayed on top, getting shots on goal in the sixth, seventh and 10th minutes. The hosts capitalized on the chances in the 19th minute, springing a quick counter attack as Elly Manning laid off to Preuss who sent a pinged cross toward the box. Snyder did well to read the flight at the back post and hit it on the half-volley, smashing a left-footed shot into the far corner for 1-0. Coe did well to manage the lead early on, keeping Grinnell away from its box with limited true chances. The Pioneers scored from a moment of magic in the 32nd minute from a corner as the visitors tied the match with an olimpico effort. The Kohawks were again the aggressors in the second half, forcing the issue early with pressure on the visitors. Snyder collected her brace early in the period, latching onto another pass from Preuss from a set piece opportunity. Grinnell managed to tie the game in a last-ditch effort, putting a corner into the box in the final minute. The corner bounced off a few bodies and finally off the back of a Kohawk and into the goal as the Pioneers managed to eek out a point.
