CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Luther College Norse Saturday afternoon at Clark Field. Coe and Luther were scoreless for over 83 minutes of the match but a late goal from distance for the Norse proved to be the difference. Coe, which faced 10 shots in the first half, did well in the second to respond, outshooting the visitors 6-5 in the final 45 minutes despite the defeat. The Kohawks two shots on goal in the match came from
Elly Manning who had three shots in total.

- Cecillie Monroe made a handful of early saves for the Kohawks, stopping shots in the third, 11th and 15th and 19th minutes to keep Luther from taking an early lead. Monroe continued to come up big in goal for the Kohawks before the end of the half, adding four more saves while getting help from the woodwork in the 38th minute. Manning's first shot on target came in the 63rd minute, seeing her attempt saved. Maya Schweiger hit the crossbar later in the match, coming inches away in the 82nd minute just before Luther's goal. The Norse scored on a counter attacking move, picking up possession near the midway line. A few passes created space for a shot from distance as a lobbed shot from over 30 yards beat Monroe for the game's lone goal.
