Valerie Gutierrez who earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:21.62, a new top-10 mark in Coe's history. Coe's 400 free relay squad of
Natalie Pirozek, Hollye Gutierrez, Valerie Gutierrez and
Ashley Fernald also placed just off the podium, finishing fourth with a time of 3:50.22 that was over a second faster than their prelim time. Pirozek also finished second in the 100 free b final, turning in a time of 55.97 which narrowly missed joining the top-10 lists.
