PELLA, Iowa – The Coe College men's tennis team picked up a 6-1 victory over Central Friday afternoon, defeating the Dutch in the first of two matches this weekend. Coe swept the doubles competition with ease to go up 1-0, getting 6-4, 6-3 and 6-2 victories.
Bryton Short / Jumpei Kasai, Ivan Burt-Smith / Daniel Rohlman and
Graham Peterson / Joshua Tiemann were Coe's doubles pairings, combining for the sweep to go up 1-0. Burt-Smith, Tiemann, Peterson and Kasai picked up their second wins of the day in singles and were joined by
Grant Idoux in the victory column as he picked up a straight sets win at number four singles.
