LINCOLN, Neb. – The Coe College softball team dropped two American Rivers Conference contests Saturday afternoon at Nebraska Wesleyan, falling 4-3 and 3-1 to the Prairie Wolves. Coe fell behind in game one as the hosts scored once in the bottom of the first. Two runs in the top of the second gave Coe the lead before the visitors made it 3-1 in the fifth. Nebraska Wesleyan pulled both runs back in the bottom of the inning with a two-run homer and later took the lead, scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth. Coe took an early lead in the second game, scoring with a sacrifice fly from
Hadyn Shoots in the first inning. Nebraska Wesleyan answered with a tying run in the bottom of the second and then took the lead for good in the second inning. Coe threatened with runners on base in three of the final five innings but couldn't manage to tie the game as NWU secured the sweep.

- The Prairie Wolves grabbed an early lead, scoring once in the bottom of the first inning on a defensive miscue from the Kohawks but Natalie Hitt did well to leave a pair of runners on and escape further damage. The Kohawks picked up the defense in the top of the second, scoring twice on a two-run single from Wagner as she drove home Jessica Meisinger and Katelyn Bladecki to make it 2-1. Coe stretched its lead to 3-1 in the fifth with another run-scoring single as Addie Menke plated Maggie Strupp to give further insurance. NWU quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, tying the score at three with a two-run, two-out homer. The hosts completed the comeback in the bottom of the sixth scoring with an RBI single to go ahead 4-3. Coe got a two-out single from Strupp in the seventh but a game-ending groundout to second got the Prairie Wolves over the line in the opener.

- Coe fell victim to another comeback in game two, going up 1-0 after a Shoots sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning. Nebraska Wesleyan tied the game in the bottom of the first and took the lead in the second with a pair of runs, taking the lead on a fielder's choice before a one-out sacrifice bunt brought home the hosts third and final run. Coe had the tying run at the plate in numerous innings before the end of the game, leaving runners on base in the third, fourth and seventh innings.
