INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Coe College softball team handed Simpson College its first A-R-C sweep of the 2025 season Saturday afternoon, taking down the league-leading Storm 8-5 and 4-3. Coe and Simpson were tightly contested in the opening game, trading scoreless frames across the first four but RBI from
Addie Menke and
Maddie Harris gave Coe a lead. Simpson responded with one in the fifth and tied the game in the bottom of the seventh but six runs in the top of the tenth inning was enough for Coe as the hosts could only muster three in response in the bottom of the inning.
Devan Baggett and
Natalie Hitt combined to slow down the offense of the Storm in game two and were complemented by a four-run fourth inning which saw
Hadyn Shoots, Marisa Vodicka and
Jessica Meisinger pick up RBI. Hitt came in for the final two innings to lock down the victory, earning her second save of the year as she stranded the bases loaded in the sixth and left a leadoff runner at first in the seventh.
