RIPON, Wisc. – The Coe College women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2025 season in dramatic fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating Ripon College 3-2 on the road. The Kohawks took the lead in the second half as
Elly Manning opened her account in the 56th minute after an assist from
Dessa Snyder. The Kohawks conceded twice in quick succession later in the half, seeing Ripon tie the game in the 73rd and later take the lead in the 77th. Coe refused to hang its head and fought back before the final whistle, with
Mac Adams scoring the equalizer in the 85th minute and
Magdalynne Preuss bagging the winner in the 88th minute. Coe outshot Ripon 18-14 including 13-12 on target while sophomore keeper
Ashton Proctor made 10 saves en route to the win.

- Lilly Ulrich forced the first save of the game in the sixth minute, setting the tone for the match which featured numerous chances for both teams. Preuss registered a pair of shots on target over the next five minutes before another shot from Kylie Ireland was stopped. During the stretch, Proctor was called into action four different times, denying goal-scoring chances in the sixth, 14th, 15th and 17th minutes. Preuss and Coe controlled the final phase of the half, recording four shots in the final 20 minutes, three of which were on target but saved. Manning opened the scoring for the Kohawks, scoring her first of the season to make it 1-0. Preuss hit the woodwork moments later, striking the crossbar in the 60th as Coe looked to double its lead. The hosts tied the game later in the half, hitting Coe on the counter attack after struggling to gain momentum in the match. Ripon struck again quickly in the 77th minute to take the lead but Coe continued to push. Preuss and Adams linked up for the match-tying goal before Preuss buried the winner in the 88th, taking an assist from Ireland who setup Coe's third of the match.
