CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Knox College Sunday afternoon at Clark Field. The Kohawks and Prairie Fire went toe-to-toe for the first half, each recording three shots in a scoreless 45 minutes of action. Knox opened the scoring in the second half, scoring from distance in the 56th minute to take the lead. The Prairie Fire made it 2-0 from a set piece routine in the 78th and saw out the closing minutes, fending off a late scramble from Coe that resulted in a pair of shots on goal.

- Coe had a few chances in the opening half but three shot attempts all missed the frame as the Kohawks could not capitalize on the momentum built. The Prairie Fire scored from a moment of magic in the 56th as Eliana Juarez picked up the ball around 25-yards out and blasted a shot that found the back of the net for 1-0. Knox doubled the lead from a set piece, playing a floating ball into the six-yard box that was deflected into the net. Coe scrambled to find at least one goal to get back into the game, getting shots on net from Mac Adams and Elly Manning in the 85th and 87th minute but both attempts were saved.
