CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Coe College wrestling team wrapped up the 2026 NWCA Division III National Duals, picking up wins over Concordia (MN), #19 Wabash, #8 Johnson & Wales and #7 North Central to place seventh at the highly competitive championships. The Kohawks opened the weekend with a 25-16 win over the Cobbers of Concordia with
Brayden Parke, Zachary Montez and
Bo Koedam earning bonus points. Coe suffered a defeat to North Central in the following round, falling 25-15 to the Cardinals but Montez earned another bonus-point win at 157 with a second-period pin. The Kohawks responded with a win over no. 19 Wabash in the consolation round one, with Parke,
Dresden Grimm, Ty Koedam, and
Jean Ngoma claiming bonus-point wins. Parke and
Justin Wirtz toppled ranked opponents in the victory with Parke defeating the no. 3 ranked wrestler Andrew Punzalan. The Kohawks kept it rolling Friday evening with a win over no. 8 Johnson & Wales, claiming a 26-12 win behind wins from
Brody Neighbor, Grimm,
Kael Kurtz, Zachary Montez, Dax Clatt, Ngoma and
Wyatt Smith who defeated 12th ranked Adolfo Betancur with a second-period pin. Coe dropped its opening match Saturday morning to A-R-C foe Loras but concluded the tournament with a bounceback win over North Central, edging the Cardinals 20-18 as Smith secured a crucial pin at 285 to win the match.
