CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Coe College women's basketball team completed a first-half sweep of the American Rivers Conference Wednesday evening, defeating the Central College Dutch 74-50 at Kohawk Arena. Caydee Kirkham scored 10 of her 30 points in the first quarter to give the hosts a comfortable lead. Central steadied itself in the second quarter and kept it tight at the break but the Kohawks pulled away with a 19-12 advantage in the third to put the game away. Kirkham hit the 30-point mark for the second straight game, totaling 30 points, six assists and five rebounds while shooting 12-of-16 from the floor.
Audrie Helmrichs was the other Kohawk in double-digits, turning in another ultra-efficient performance as she had 21 points and seven rebounds while going 10-of-13 from the field. Overall, Coe shot 30-of-58 from the floor and got baskets from nine different players.

- Kirkham and Helmrichs were on fire from the first possession, combining for a 17-2 run in the opening seven minutes of the first quarter. Central scored the next two baskets to settle in but a jumper from Taryn Kravig before the end of the period made it 19-6. The Dutch steadied themselves in the second quarter, trading blows with the Kohawks throughout the period. The Kohawks extended the lead momentarily as Kirkham hit a 3 at the 1:32 mark but Central closed the gap before the end of half with eight of the final 10 points. Coe used a balanced offensive effort in the third quarter to extend the lead, getting buckets from six different players as the hosts outscored Central 19-12. The Kohawks turned it on late in the quarter to really pull away, scoring nine of the final 12 points to make it 53-35 after three. Another big run from Coe started the fourth quarter as the final nail was hammered home with the hosts scoring 12 of the first 17 points to lead 65-40 with 6:15 to play.
