WINONA, Minn. - The Coe College Volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday evening, defeating Macalester College 3-0 before falling to Saint Mary's University 3-0. The Kohawks dominated against Macalester, hitting .206 as a team while getting double-digit kill efforts from
Brooke Sullivan and
Najolie Price. Saint Mary's was on fire in the second match of the evening, hitting a staggering .355 while limiting Coe to a .075 attack percentage.
Tessa Casebolt led Coe's attacking effort in the second match, totaling nine kills.

COE 3 - MACALESTER 0
- Coe dominated its first match of the day, claiming the three-set victory with 25-16, 25-18 and 25-19 decisions. The Kohawks opened on fire, attacking at a .344 clip with 14 kills and three errors in the opener. An early 10-4 lead proved to be large enough for Coe, cruising to victory in the first with the impressive effort. Set two started back-and-forth with the teams separated by just one point at 9-8. The Kohawks turned on the jets late in the period, scoring five straight points to pull ahead and claim a 25-18 decision. Another point run for the Kohawks proved to be the difference in the third set, ripping off a 12-2 run to go up 23-13. Macalester did fight back to get within four, but back-to-back points, including a match-clinching kill from Sullivan, finished the match.

SAINT MARY'S 3 - COE 0
- Saint Mary's was unstoppable in the second match of the evening, hitting .355 with 43 kills and just 10 errors. The Cardinals cruised to 25-17, 25-16 and 25-18 victories en route to the straight-sets decision, limiting Coe to just 29 kills and 21 errors. Coe led 5-0 in the first set but saw the hosts storm back, ripping off an 11-3 run to gain control before seeing out a 25-17 victory. A big run from the Kohawks in set two gave the visitors a 12-8 lead midway through the period. The Cardinals raced back, scoring 17 of the final 21 points to grab the 2-0 lead. Saint Mary's finished the match in style, hitting a match-best .458 in the final set with 15 kills and four errors.
