Ilah Perez-Johnson promoted to top assistant volleyball coach

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College Volleyball head coach April Elsbernd announced earlier this month the promotion of Ilah Perez-Johnson to the program's top assistant coach position after one year on staff as a part-time coach. The former standout collegiate player helped Coe reach the NCAA tournament in 2025 with a victory in the A-R-C tournament.

"I am extremely excited to be elevating Coach Perez-Johnson from her part-time role to our full-time assistant position," said Elsbernd. "She has proven herself to be a strong asset to the Kohawk Volleyball program on court; and we're looking forward to having her work more directly with recruits, having more contact with our student athletes off the court and in our day-to-day operations!"

"I'm really excited and grateful for this opportunity," said Perez-Johnson. "I'm looking forward to continuing to work with our team, helping our players grow, and doing my part to keep building the Kohawk volleyball program!"
