DES MOINES, Iowa – The Coe College men's golf team opened the 2026 American Rivers Conference Championships Sunday afternoon at Glen Oaks Country Club, playing the first 18 holes of the three-day tournament. The Kohawk men were led by freshman
Mitchell Katz, who posted an opening round score of three-over par, 74. Katz had a trio of birdies on the round, making two on the front nine and one on the back for an even-par 36.
Lane Pierson shot the team's second-lowest round of the day with a 76, carding one birdie as the senior is sitting in a tie for 15th.
Jackson Pipho is next on the leaderboard for Coe, currently tied for 33rd after a round of 81.

Tyler Santi finished off the team's round one scoring with 18-hole totals of 85 and 87. The Kohawks will be back in action with the second 18 holes beginning tomorrow at 9 AM.
