CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Kohawk Men's Soccer team was picked to finish seventh in the 2026 edition of the A-R-C preseason coaches' poll on Tuesday. Coe will once again be led by Kyle Bakas, who is in his sixth season as the Kohawk head coach. Coach Bakas returns 10 upperclassmen this year that all have game experience and a great chance to be very impactful in the Kohawks success. 
 
"We are very excited for this season," said Bakas. "We have a great balance of returners and new guys. Our squad is deep and the coaching staff is really looking forward to watching these men work hard for each other."  Coach Bakas will look to use its high intensity attacking style to increase its offensive production and put the team in a better position to win. 
 
The 2026 season opens with the home opener against Grinnell (9/1), before a stretch of away matches against College of St. Scholastica (9/4), Saint John's University (9/6), a Bremner Cup match against Cornell (9/9), and then a tie with UW-Platteville (9/10). The next two matches see the Kohawks face familiar non-conference opponents in a home match with Hamline University (9/12), and an away match against Knox College (9/16). A return to Clark Field for the next four matches against Emmaus Bible College (9/19), back-to-back games against Augustana College (Ill.) (9/22), and Saint Mary's University (9/23), and then UW-Stevens Point (9/26) rounds out the last home non-conference game. The non-conference slate ends with a match on the road against Elmhurst University (9/29). 
 
October brings the start of A-R-C play as Coe travels to Dubuque to take on University of Dubuque (10/7). The Kohawks open their home conference matches with the preseason number three and number two teams as they host Central College (9/10), and Loras College (10/13) respectively. The next two conference matches see the Kohawks hit the road to face Simpson College (10/17) and Nebraska Wesleyan (10/21). Two final conference matches against Buena Vista University (10/24), and preseason favorites Wartburg College finish out the regular season schedule.
