CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday night at Kohawk Arena, dominating the Prairie Wolves thanks in part to an impressive defensive performance. The Kohawks racked up seven blocks in the victory, the second-highest total of any single match and the most of any three-set match in 2024. Coe got things started in the opening set, outlasting the visitors for a 26-24 victory while erasing a late two-point deficit. The Kohawks finished the job in the following two periods, earning a narrow 25-22 win in the second before a clinching 25-17 victory in the third period.
Gracie Urbatsch posted a team-high 11 kills while
Maddy Maahs directed the offense with 32 assists. Defensively, Coe was led by
Maggie Furlong with 10 digs and five block assists.

- Coe opened the first set well, getting a strong serving run from Maahs that helped build a 16-10 lead. NWU fought back and regained the lead, taking a 22-20 advantage late in the frame. The hosts settled down and forced extra points before getting back-to-back points on an ace from Kelsey Hansel and an attacking error. Coe built another big lead in the second set, taking a 19-12 lead as Urbatsch forced a timeout from the visitors. The Prairie Wolves answered with a quick run, closing the gap to one but Coe scored three of the final four points to hang on. The clinching set was less dramatic as the hosts raced out to a 22-12 lead. NWU put up one final fight, scoring five-straight points but the Kohawks buckled down and scored three straight to end the match.
