WAVERLY, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-2 defeat at Wartburg College on Saturday afternoon. Wartburg handled business in the opening two sets, racing out to a 2-0 lead thanks to 25-12 and 25-10 victories. Coe fought back and knotted the match at two, claiming 25-17 and 25-16 wins in the third and fourth periods. Wartburg avoided the reverse sweep in the final period, edging out a 15-8 victory for the 3-2 final. The Kohawks struggled offensively in the defeat, hitting just .097 as a team as Wartburg forced them into 32 attacking errors. Wartburg hit .233, committing just 19 errors with 49 kills.

- The Knights capitalized on a slow start from the Kohawks, easing to a pair of wins in the first two sets. The visitors hit -.172 and -.036 in the opening periods, totaling 13 kills and 19 errors as Wartburg took a commanding 2-0 lead. The Kohawks refused to go away quietly, responding strongly in periods three and four. Coe won the third set 25-17, getting 14 kills overall and four from Maggie Furlong. The visitors made it 2-2 with 14 more kills in the fourth set, winning 25-16 behind three kills from Kelsey Hansel, Gracie Urbatsch and Furlong. Wartburg outlasted Coe in the deciding period, hitting .444 as a team with nine kills and only one error.
