CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to six games over the weekend, picking up a trio of non-conference victories over Illinois Wesleyan, Edgewood and North Central. The Kohawks opened the weekend with a sweep of IWU, pulling out the opening two sets after trailing for much of the action before a dominant third set. The nightcap forced Coe to five sets, pulling out a 3-2 thriller against Edgewood. The Kohawks lost two of the first three sets but claimed the final two for a five-set victory. Saturday's match was much of the same, dropping two of three to North Central to start the contest. The Kohawks answered back, edging out a 25-20 set-four win before owning the final frame for a 15-11 win.

GAME FACTS
- Illinois Wesleyan held the lead for much of the opening set but a late comeback from the Kohawks flipped the score and gave the hosts a 1-0 lead. Kelsey Hansel had a team-high four kills in the period while Gracie Urbatsch added three to help claim the set. The Titans held another lead late in the second set, up 20-17 in the frame. Coe stormed back for a 2-0 lead, scoring three straight to tie the match at 20 before winning 29-27 in extra points. The Kohawks completed the sweep in the third, committing just four errors with 11 kills. Maddie Harris registered a team-best five kills in the frame, hitting .308 as she committed only one error in 13 tries. Maddy Maahs posted 25 assists in the match to lead Coe while Harris, Maggie Furlong and Maahs had double-digit digs.
COE 3 - EDGEWOOD 2
GAME FACTS
- The Kohawks were on fire to start, hitting .361 in the opening period en route to a 25-16 victory. Edgewood responded with back-to-back set victories, claiming the second 27-25 before a 25-23 win in set three. The Kohawks bounced back in the fourth, attacking at a .407 clip with 15 kills in 27 tries. Four players had multiple kills in the period, led by Furlong with five. Hansel pushed Coe past the Eagles in the fifth, leading with three kills as Coe took the final frame. Urbatsch ended the contest with a team-high 20 kills, attacking at a .434 clip while Furlong was right behind with 17.
COE 3 - NORTH CENTRAL 2
GAME FACTS
- North Central owned the opening set, racking up 17 kills and just four errors as the Cardinals won 25-16. The Kohwaks pulled one back in the second, edging the visitors 25-22 as seven kills from Furlong proved the difference. The Cardinals regained the lead with a win in the third, taking advantage of eight Kohawk attacking errors for a 25-19 win. The hosts forced a fifth set with a strong defensive effort in the fourth, holding North Central to -.023 attacking percentage on 43 attempts. Coe completed the comeback victory in the fifth with another strong showing, hitting .429 with nine kills and zero errors. Furlong capped off the match with an impressive four kills in five tries, pushing the Kohawks over the line.
