PLATTEVILLE, Wisc. – The Coe College men's soccer team dropped a road match on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-1 to the University of Wisconsin Platteville Pioneers. Platteville scored the opening goal, taking a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.
Ian Kearney and Coe quickly struck back to level the game as the junior forward tallied his seventh goal of the campaign in the 23rd minute. The Pioneers regained the lead shortly after the restart of the second half, scoring the eventual game-winning goal from the penalty spot in the 49th minute. The hosts added insurance in the 54th and 81st minutes, making it the final 4-1 score.

- The Pioneers scored with their second shot of the match, testing Jr. Holland in the sixth minute before finding the back of the net moments later. The Kohawks quickly pushed for the equalizer, getting a shot on target from Adam Brada that was saved by the UWP keeper. Kearney leveled the score just under 10 minutes later, taking an assist from Hudson Ryder to make it 1-1. Kearney forced another save in the 30th minute but the Pioneers had the last shot of the half, forcing another save from Holland in the 32nd minute. Platteville ramped up the pressure in the early going of the second half, forcing two saves and hitting the crossbar inside the opening three minutes. The hosts capitalized on the momentum and were awarded a penalty, which was converted for a 2-1 lead. The Pioneers made it 4-1 with two more goals before the end of the match, padding their lead in the 54th and 81st minute.
