DUBUQUE, Iowa — The Coe College volleyball team secured the American Rivers Conference Postseason title and the league's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA DIII Tournament Saturday evening, knocking off top-seeded Dubuque 3-1. The Kohawks fell behind in the match after a dominant start from the hosts as Dubuque hit .371 with just three errors and 16 kills in the first set. Coe responded in the second frame, holding the Spartans to a .122 attack percentage while posting a .286 mark of its own en route to a 25-17 victory that leveled the score at one. Coe and UD went back-and-forth in the third set, trading points throughout as there was no separation. Extra points were required as Coe scored back-to-back points on attacking errors from the Spartans to take a 28-26 victory and a 2-1 lead in the match. The Kohawks raced across the finish line in the fourth set, taking an early 7-3 lead and never looking back. UD got within three at 9-6 but six unanswered points from Coe made it a nine-point lead which was too large for the hosts to overcome. Coe's attack was led by
Maggie Furlong who had a team-high and match-high 18 kills with a staggering .432 attack percentage while
Maddie Harris and
Avery Beckett hit double-digits with 12 and 11 kills respectively.
Maddy Maahs eclipsed the 4,800-assist mark for her career in the win and moved to number two on Coe's all-time list as she posted 50 assists directing the offense. Defensively,

Bella Rio (13) and Beckett (10) had double-digit digs while
Najolie Price had a solo block and two assists.

COE 3 - UD 1
- Coe and UD were both on fire to start the match, hitting .294 and .371 respectively. Dubuque used a strong run midway through the set to establish control, scoring six unanswered points to go up 20-14. The Kohawks momentarily slowed the run with a kill from Furlong but UD scored five of the final six points to take a 1-0 lead. Coe used a 6-0 run in set two to sit in control with a 10-7 lead. The Kohawks continued to stretch the lead over the next few rallies, outscoring UD 7-3 to go ahead 17-10 late in the set. The Spartans clawed back to 21-17 following a timeout but the Kohawks ended the set with four-straight points including a set-sealing kill from Furlong. UD had a 14-12 lead in set three after a four-point stretch. Coe came back and leveled the score, fighting to make it 22-22 before a kill from Beckett gave the visitors a one-point lead. UD called timeout and scored two straight, forcing a timeout from the Kohawks. An attacking error from UD and an ace from Rio gave Coe a 25-24 lead before the Kohawks managed to grab a 28-26 win after back-to-back errors from the Spartans. Coe raced out to a 7-3 lead in the final set, getting two early kills from Beckett and Tessa Casebolt. UD made it a three-point game with a small run but couldn't stop Coe's momentum as the Kohawks ripped off five straight to put the game out of reach. UD continued to fight and made it a six-point deficit at 20-14 but Coe hung on, scoring five of the final six points to pick up the dramatic victory.
