MONMOUTH, Ill.– The Coe College men's golf team wrapped up play at Monmouth College's Fighting Scot Invite Sunday afternoon, with its "A" team finishing fifth and its "B" team finishing sixth. The Kohawk squads were led by
Sam Scully, placing eighth individually after he vaulted up the leaderboard with a one-under 70 on Sunday. Scully made five birdies on his round, including three on the back nine as he led Coe's top team.
Mitchell Katz posted Coe's second-best round of the day, leading Coe's second team with an even par 71 as the freshman made a pair of birdies and 14 pars.
Brooks Hoffland finished off a solid tournament in round two, tying Katz with a T11 finish as he shot 76 on Sunday. Coe's "B" team shot a weekend-low 298 in round two as
Caden Weddingfeld (74) and
Robbie Allison (77) rounded out an impressive team effort for the Kohawks. Coe's top team was just behind with a second-round total of 303 as
Tyler Santi (75),
C. Reece Breitenbach (79) and
Jackson Pipho (79) finished off the team scoring for day two.
