CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe men's soccer team hosted the UW-Stevens Point Pointers on Saturday afternoon in their third match day of the week. The first half favored the Pointer offense as they outshot the Kohawks 11-4, but only four of those shots would be on goal. The Pointers took six shots toward the Kohawk net before they were able to bury one on a wicked deflection from the Kohawks' defense. The Kohawks would try to generate their offense going over the top with long passes, and eventually Coe's
Valentin Lobos was able to draw a foul in the Pointers' 18-yard box and win a penalty. Lobos would convert and tie up the match before halftime. The second half would see even more action, as both teams looked to break the deadlock and grab a win from the match. Coe's
Jonah Lasselle would fire in a second goal early on in the second half and give the advantage to Coe. Stevens Point would waste no time in trying to level the match once again, as in the 68th minute the Pointers equalized. In the dying embers of the match, Stevens Point was able to take the lead 3-2 and would hold onto the lead for the last five minutes. The match would end 3-2 in favor of the Pointers.

- The Pointers worked their hardest to force the Kohawks over the top with long balls, and it proved to be stifling for Coe. Stevens Point's short passes would put them through on goal quite a few times in the first half, forcing keeper William Shaw to make two saves in the first half. The Kohawk defense managed to stop the Pointer's quick attack until the 18th minute, when a shot was deflected and went in. The Kohawks would pick up a yellow card in the first half in the 44th minute. It would look like the half would end with the Kohawks down a goal, but a late foul in the box won the Kohawks a penalty. Lobos was able to net the penalty and knot the score at 1-1 in the last minute of the first half.
- The Kohawks would carry that momentum from the late first-half goal into the second half, as Lasselle lashed in his fourth goal of the season five minutes into the second half to give Coe the 2-1 advantage. The Pointer's second-half attack would look much the same as they would end the half with 13 more shots as they looked for the equalizer. Stevens Point would eventually be rewarded with a game-tying goal in the 68th minute in what would make for a cagey last 20 minutes. Coe would pick up three yellow cards in the second half, and even a second yellow from Luke Siddon to bring the Kohawks down to 10 men. The Pointers would have one last gasp at goal in the 85th minute and snatch a win from the Kohawks as the match ended 3-2.
