CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat to the University of Dubuque on Wednesday evening at Clark Field. The contest was scoreless in the opening minutes but the visiting Spartans scored the lone goal of the match in the 22nd minute. Coe continued to pressure the UD goal, getting a chance in the 36th minute but the shot skimmed the cross bar as the hosts trailed at the break. The Kohawks kept up the pressure in the second half, creating a variety of scoring opportunities but all efforts came up empty. The loss drops Coe to 1-10-1 overall and 0-3 in the A-R-C while UD improves to 6-4-2 and 2-0-1 in the league.

- Dubuque recorded an early shot, testing Kohawk keeper Max Twight in the opening two minutes of the contest. The game went quiet over the next few minutes until Dubuque tallied the game's only goal in the 22nd minute. Draek Littler fired a shot from outside the box for the Spartans which forced Twight into a save but the rebound fell to a Spartan attacker who converted for the opener. Coe's best chance came in the 36th minute after a swift-attacking move with Connor Fitch putting a powerful header towards goal but it hit the top of the frame and stayed out. The second half featured a more wide-open game, with opportunities for both squads. Coe pressured late in the match and threw bodies forward, but were unable to muster a chance in front of goal.
