PELLA, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team dropped an American Rivers Conference match at Central on Saturday, falling 3-0 to the Dutch. Coe conceded an early goal to Central, seeing the opponents net the first of the match just three minutes in. The Dutch added two more goals before the end of the opening half, creating a large gap between them and the Kohawks. Coe battled back in the second half, securing the clean sheet over the 45-minute period. The visitors also had a few more chances in the attacking area but were unable to capitalize on five shots in the frame. The loss drops Coe to 1-11-1 overall and 0-4 in the A-R-C while Central improves to 2-7-2 and 1-1-1 in the league.

- Central's opening goal came on its first shot of the game, scoring just two mintues and 40 seconds in. The hosts continued to search for more on offense during the early portion of the game, racking up six more shots in the next 15-plus minutes. The Dutch scored the final two goals of the match in quick succession, tallying in the 23rd and 24th minute to put the game out of reach. Coe threatened before the end of the half, getting a shot from Kevin Williams but his effort struck the left post. Neither team took advantage of scoring opportunities in the second half, with the contest ending with the three first-half goals. Coe had five shots in the second with the lone attempt on target from Mark Corley being saved by the Dutch keeper.
