WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College men's soccer team dropped its American Rivers Conference opener on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 at Wartburg College. The Knights scored two early goals in the first half, finding the back of the net in the 11th and 14th minute to grab a comfortable advantage. The Kohawks conceded twice more in the second 45 minutes, surrendering a goal just after the halftime break in the 49th and one final time in the 88th minute as the hosts secured the victory.

GAME FACTS
- Warburg began the game on top, earning a corner 30 seconds into the contest. The hosts found the back of the net with their second shot on target, opening the scoring in the 11th minute of the match. Jr Holland made his best effort to keep the deficit at one a few minutes later, coming up with an initial save but the rebound dropped to Wartburg allowing the hosts to double their lead. Coe forced a trio of saves during the next 10 minutes of play, getting shots on goal from Jonathan Williams, Sebastian Pena and Alan Losoya. The Knights put the game on ice less than four minutes into the second half, scoring from a free kick to make it 3-0. Wartburg later added one more goal, scoring the game's final goal in the 88th minute to lock up the result.
Up next: The Kohawks are back on the pitch on Wednesday, October 4 at the University of Dubuque with kickoff slated for 5 PM.
