Cornell put the pressure on for the remainder of the game and finally tied it with less than four minutes to play, scoring a penalty to ensure a point. GAME FACTS
- Cornell and Coe did little in the opening minutes but the visitors earned four early corners which were dealt with easily by Coe's defense. The Kohawks started to gain momentum around the 12-minute mark, securing a pair of corners while misfiring on a handful of shot attempts.
- Holland made the first save of the game in the 37th, coming up with a stop on an attempt from Cornell's George Archer. The Kohawks quickly answered, creating havoc in the penalty area as Williams dribbled past two defenders before being taken down. Kearney made no mistake on the ensuing penalty, burying his shot past the keeper to make it 1-0.
- The Kohawks built on the momentum in the first 20 minutes of the second period, putting pressure on the Ram defense. The game changed in the 68th minute as Collins was shown a second yellow and sent off. The Rams threw the pressure on Coe for the remaining 20-plus minutes but it was not until an 87th minute penalty that the visitors leveled the match. Holland did all he could saving the initial penalty but the rebound fell back to Cornell in front of an empty net.
Up next: Coe is back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2 PM, hosting Spurgeon College at Clark Field.
