SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Coe College men's soccer team had its unbeaten start to the season snapped Friday afternoon, falling 3-0 to Hamline for its first loss of the 2025 season. The Kohawks were in the game despite the uneven score line, trailing by one goal from the 14th minute until late in the second half. The Pipers found the opener early in the first half, going up 1-0 after a flurry of chances were saved by
William Shaw. The Kohawks forced a trio of saves in the latter stage of the half but were unable to capitalize and later saw the Pipers score twice in two minutes to seal the victory.
Brandon Kostelny registered a pair of shots on target in the closing stages but both were saved as Coe failed to find the back of the net.

HAMLINE 3 - COE 0
- Shaw made two early saves for the Kohawks, stopping shots in the 11th and 12th minute to keep it scoreless. The Pipers made it 1-0 moments later, capitalizing on the momentum for the early lead. Shaw kept it at 1-0 with another save in the 21st minute before Coe started to gain control. Kostelny, Marek Jesienouski and Talon Sargent all fired shots on goal in the final 15 minutes of the half, forcing the Piper keeper to spring into action to keep the lead intact. Shaw made two quick saves in the second 45 before Coe settled in once again, stopping a pair of shots within the first three minutes of the period. Kostelny and Coe's attack piled on the pressure but failed to score, with the lone shot on goal from Kostelny in the 61st minute. Hamline put the game away with two goals in quick succession, going up 2-0 in the 74th before a penalty made it 3-0 in the 76th. Kostelny called the keeper into action two more times before the final whistle, seeing shots on target saved in the 77th and 83rd minutes.
